![]() I will upload some new tracks later tonight and monitor how much data is uploaded by media manager. It is still possible that the files are uploaded to google servers in lossless form but what is on my phone is definitely encoded tracks. I obviously can't play them but what I can conclude is that the manage downloads does not report the actual size downloaded. What interesting is that they are the size of 320kbps mp3, largest being 32MB which is probably just a long song. Weird.ĭoes anyone know where on the device these files are stored?ĮDIT2: Looking in /data/data//files/ it seems that all the files are mp3 (though that doesn't mean anything.). This time it's apparently 445MB even though it didn't upload anything and the actual FLAC files are only 323MB. Googlei teenus, mida pakutakse ilma rahata, tõlgib sõnad, fraasid ja veebilehed koheselt inglise keelest enam kui 100 muusse keelde ja vastupidi. So the album showed up again in my library and I tried to download it. Clearly and encoded copy, so I deleted the album from my library and reuploaded it with the media manager, only the media manager didn't actually upload anything (I am guessing the album is not immediately deleted from Google servers). I downloaded it, it had a size of ~100MB. Whats interesting though is if I download one of those Nocturnus tracks from the web interface, it gives me an mp3.ĮDIT: Just experimented with an album that I uploaded a long time ago and does not exist on GPAA. They may very well be converting to a different lossless format, but lossless is lossless. The Nocturnus albums are almost the same size as the FLACs that I uploaded, so it would seem that not only is Google transferring the full flac files, they are even letting you download them to your device. Access the Music Manager and select the ‘Upload’ tab Uncheck the box for ‘Automatically upload songs added to my selected folders’ Click ‘Upload’ After attempting to add music manually, feel free to return your upload frequency to its original setting. The rest of the albums are ones I downloaded with Google Play All Access. I uploaded Obscura and Elvenfris probably 2 years ago, whereas I uploaded the two Nocturnus albums just 2 months ago. These albums are the ones I uploaded myself from my own FLAC CD rips: Album It seems new uploads are uploading the entire full uncompressed files rather than first transcoding to MP3 320kbps. If you have a poor internet connection, your connection might be broken after. I noticed something very interesting with my downloads though. Downloads work differently from your normal surfing (i.e. With the new Google Play Music update, we received a new and much improved Manage Downloads interface.
