As you can see from the above results the statistics on my table T1 are correct. You really should do some additional investigation to prove (or disprove) your assumptions. Rows that are shorter than that average can more densely populate a block rows which meet or exceed that length will populate the block with fewer rows. You are looking at AVERAGE ROW LENGTH, not absolute row length, and that average will include rows which exceed that average and rows that are less than that average.
